Without food we die in weeks. Without water we perish in days. Without breath, it’s minutes. As with food and water, the quality and quantity of our breath matters. New research shows that correct breathing is the key factor in predicting both physical and mental health. Proper breathing increases brain oxygen levels, reduces lactic acid build-up in muscles, balances the endocrine system, improves cardiac function, increases immunity, stimulates long-term weight loss, improves athletic performance, tones the nervous system, and heals past trauma. WOW!
But… most people don’t breath correctly. Today there is more people suffering with chronic stress related diseases, sleep apnea, asthma, over-breathing conditions, and heart disease than ever before. Simply put - the way we breathe can add years to our life, or strip us of vitality. When we have a strong - conscious relationship with our breath, we live fuller, healthier lives.
