A Diana Rising Collective Workshop
Breath of the BrAVE
A Weekend Workshop for Women Survivors
Support for Survivors of Sexual Assault—and Those Who Love Them
Join us for a deeply held weekend of healing, sisterhood, and reclamation. Breath of the Brave is a trauma-informed, somatic workshop designed specifically for women who are survivors of sexual assault and who are ready to gently but powerfully reconnect with their bodies, their voices, and their sacred feminine essence.
Facilitated by Gail from Indigo Breathwork & Wellness and Jenny from the LIATI Institute, this intimate gathering offers space to move beyond survival—and into embodied sovereignty.
Why This Work Matters
Sexual trauma has a profound impact—not just on the body, but on every layer of a person’s life. Research has shown that sexual assault often fractures the connection between a person and their own body—the very source of intuition, safety, power, and pleasure. It shakes one’s sense of safety, alters the nervous system, and often leaves survivors navigating years of confusion, shame, and emotional isolation.
The statistics are staggering:
1 in 3 women worldwide will experience physical or sexual violence in her lifetime.
In the U.S., every 68 seconds, someone is sexually assaulted.
And yet, less than 25% of survivors ever disclose what happened to them.
Survivors may find themselves living in a constant state of survival:
Dissociation from their physical sensations or emotions
Hypervigilance and sleep disturbances
Emotional shutdown or numbness
Anxiety, panic attacks, and difficulty trusting others
Coping mechanisms like substance use, eating disorders, or compulsive behaviors in an attempt to numb the pain or reclaim a sense of control.
These are not just psychological issues—they are somatic responses, embedded deep in the nervous system. These are not signs of weakness or dysfunction—they are adaptive responses to overwhelming experiences.
Yet, many survivors feel alone in these patterns, especially when traditional talk therapy doesn’t fully address what they’re feeling inside. While traditional talk therapy can offer insight and validation, it may not be enough to heal the body-based imprints of trauma. Survivors often say, “I understand what happened, but I still feel broken.”
Embodied healing is essential. Somatic therapies—like breathwork, trauma-informed movement, and nervous system regulation practices—can reconnect a person with their body, help them reclaim agency, and begin to restore a sense of inner safety.
And it’s not just the survivor who carries the weight.
Partners, friends, and family members often feel helpless, unsure of what to say or do, or afraid of triggering more pain. Watching someone you love suffer in silence can create its own kind of trauma. That’s why we also support the supporters—the people who are walking beside the survivor with love and care. Your presence matters more than you know. With the right education and support, you can become a powerful ally in the healing process.
Healing is possible. And no one has to walk the path alone.
Reclaim what was always yours:
Your breath. Your body. Your power. Your voice.
This weekend is for the fierce ones who are ready to begin—or continue—the journey of coming home to themselves. The body is where our power lives. In this workshop, we will gently reclaim our right to inhabit it—fully, safely, and without shame.
Through breath, movement, myth, and community, we invite the body to release what it no longer needs, and remember what it has never lost: innate wisdom, worthiness, and wildness.
As we deepen into this work, we will also explore the myth of Diana (Artemis)—Goddess of the Hunt, sacred sisterhood, and archetype of wild feminine sovereignty. Her story will serve as a guidepost, reminding us that it is not only possible to reclaim our bodies, but to reclaim our light, pleasure, and playful spirit.
